Origami tubular tessellation

Geometric folding gives this thin xerox paper enough strength to hold a heavy measuring tape.

With no glue being used, the structure is held in shape with the help of an elastic band.

The tower is very strong. By using harder materials such as cardboard, at a larger scale, the same folding can be used for a small table.
